Ready to Take Your Craft to the Next Level??
Join us for Student Band Draft Day

Date: August 24th
Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Cost: $10 per student, non-refundable
Join us for an exciting day of auditions as students showcase their musical talents and vie for a spot in one of our esteemed student bands. This unique event, known as Draft Day, will have students perform in front of a panel of teachers who will then draft students into their respective bands.

Audition Requirements:

  • Preparation: Students need to prepare a portion of one song, not to exceed 2 minutes in length, that highlights their instrument mastery.
  • Skill Demonstration: In addition to their prepared piece, students will be asked to demonstrate basic instrument skills essential for success in a student band. These skills will vary by instrument, and a specific list of required skills will be provided to all registered students. This list will also be available for download on the Amplified Band Page.

Bands and Age Groups:

  • Junior Band (Ages 8 – 12)
  • Praise & Worship Band (Ages 12 – 17)
  • Jazz Band (Ages 12 – 17)
  • Teen Band (Ages 14 – 18)
  • Vocal Tones Choir (Ages 11 – 18)

Additional Information:

  • Multiple Bands: Students may be drafted into more than one band and can choose to participate in multiple bands.
  • Acceptance: Students may decline to participate in the band they’re drafted into.
  • Selection: Not all who audition will be selected for a band program. This does not reflect a lack of talent but rather a need for further development to meet our program’s standards. Students not yet ready may be offered entry into our Band Training Class to prepare for next year’s Audition/Draft Day.
All participants are encouraged to review our Amplified Student Band Program Policies & Procedures for detailed information on class management and band member participation.
We look forward to seeing you at Draft Day and hearing the incredible talent our students have to offer!
