We love nothing more than seeing our students grow into incredible musicians—and even better humans—and Diego Bermudez is a perfect
example of that journey in action! A proud Texas Amps & Axes alum, Diego has taken his passion for music to the next level and is now
pursuing a degree in Music Education at the University of North Texas.
At UNT, Diego studies under renowned trombonists Steven Menard and Timothy Owner, continuing to refine his craft at one of the nation’s top music programs. He has performed with numerous youth orchestras across the DFW area and currently doubles on bass trombone, performing with UNT’s prestigious 4 O’Clock Lab Band—a true mark of excellence in the jazz world.
In 2025, Diego marched with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, a consistent World Class finalist within Drum Corps International—an experience that speaks volumes about his discipline, musicianship, and performance level.
While trombone may be his primary instrument today, Diego’s musical roots run deep. He’s been playing guitar since the age of 5, with over
13 years of private instruction, and continues to enjoy and utilize those skills regularly. His versatility extends into jazz as well, having performed extensively with multiple jazz bands throughout high school.
Now, Diego is bringing his experience full circle—joining the TA&A teaching team, where he will be teaching Trombone & Guitar and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
From early lessons to elite ensembles, Diego embodies what it means to grow through music—and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome him back as part of the TA&A family!
