About Me...

Born and raised in South Florida, Ethan Nguyen began playing piano at the age of five. It was during this formative time that one of his earliest mentors introduced him to the sounds of jazz improvisation. From then on, he was captivated and nurtured a deep passion for both classical and jazz music. He earned a B.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Florida, followed by an M.M. in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of North Texas. Through UNT, he had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Miguel Zenón, Andre Hayward, and Mark Walker. He also performed at venues including the Midwest Clinic, Jazz Showcase, JEN Conference, and TMEA Convention.

Today, Ethan is an active performer and educator in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As an educator, he places an emphasis on intentionality rather than perfectionism. His goal is to help students become independent thinkers who can freely adapt to any situation their music takes them.
