Ms. Huiwon brings over 25 years of experience as a professional pianist and accompanist to the Texas Amps & Axes teaching team. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Huiwon began her musical journey at Sunhwa Arts School, one of Korea’s top institutions for classical music study, where she majored in piano from middle school through high school. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Yonsei University, and later expanded her expertise by earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Business and Management from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Her career spans both performance and the music industry — from accompanying vocalists, choirs, and instrumentalists for live performances, to serving as a Marketing Planner for Yedang Classic Label in Seoul, where she developed and launched promotional strategies for emerging classical artists. This blend of performance and business acumen gives Huiwon a unique understanding of the modern music landscape, and she brings that knowledge to every lesson she teaches.
In addition to her work in education, Huiwon has served as the Piano Accompanist at New Song Baptist Church in Carrollton since 2018, providing musical support for vocalists and ensembles across a variety of genres.
At Texas Amps & Axes, Huiwon combines her deep classical training with her creative, goal-oriented approach to help students build solid technique, musical confidence, and artistry at the piano. Whether preparing for a recital or simply learning for fun, her students thrive in an encouraging and musically rich environment.
