About Me...

Music has always been part of Iris Meneley’s story. Growing up surrounded by music, she spent years singing, playing, and exploring different instruments, but it wasn’t until adulthood that she had the opportunity to truly focus on her own musical education. That journey has given her a unique perspective as both a musician and teacher, and a deep belief that it’s never too late to discover your love of music.

Today, Iris is an avid piano player, vocalist, and music educator who loves helping students build confidence through music. While she would be the first to tell you she isn’t a concert pianist, her strong sight-reading skills, practical musicianship, and passion for learning allow her to connect with beginning piano students in a way that feels approachable, encouraging, and fun.

As a vocalist, Iris enjoys working with students on performance pieces, auditions, stage presence,

and developing confidence in their singing voice. She believes that music should be both educational and joyful, helping students find their own unique sound while building strong musical foundations.

Iris also has experience playing cello and enjoys helping beginning cello students develop basic technique, note-reading skills, and confidence as they start their musical journey.

In addition to teaching, Iris is the co-owner and Studio Director of Texas Amps & Axes, where she works closely with hundreds of students, families, and teachers each year. Through her leadership role, she has developed a deep understanding of what helps students thrive both musically and personally, and she is passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that build confidence, character, and community.

Her greatest passion, however, is working with young musicians. As one of the lead instructors for Texas Amps & Axes’ Little Jammers Early Childhood Music Program, Iris loves creating imaginative, engaging lessons that help children discover rhythm, melody, theory, and beginner piano concepts through play, movement, storytelling, and hands-on musical exploration. She has a special gift for connecting with younger students and helping them build a firm musical foundation while never losing sight of the fun.

Whether she’s helping a singer prepare for an audition, guiding a new piano student through their first songs, or introducing a Little Jammer to the magic of music for the very first time, Iris is passionate about helping every student discover confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.

Fun Fact: Iris believes there’s nothing a little music can’t handle and is a firm believer that music should be accessible to everyone—whether you’re 3 years old, 83 years old, or anywhere in between.
