Mike Naber has been an integral part of the Texas Amps & Axes family since 2018, bringing with him decades of experience and a deep passion for student growth. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance and a minor in Music Education, Mike has more than 20 years of professional experience as a performer, songwriter, lesson teacher, and music director.
Mike is known not just for his musical expertise, but for his extraordinary patience and his gift for creating a safe, encouraging space where students can explore, express, and grow. Whether he’s guiding a beginner through their first piano piece or helping an advanced student break through a creative block, Mike has a remarkable ability to redirect frustration into discovery. His students consistently thrive under his calm and compassionate direction.
In addition to working with younger students, Mike is a favorite among our adult learners. He also mentors advanced students as apprentice teachers, offering them the unique opportunity to deepen their musical knowledge by learning how to teach others.
“My goal,” says Mike, “is to understand each student’s musical vision and help them map a clear, joyful path to get there. We work hard, but we have fun doing it.”
