Ms. Danell Winsor holds both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Violin Performance from Texas Christian University, with a concentration in Suzuki Pedagogy. While an undergraduate, she became a Teaching Assistant at the TCU Suzuki Program while also studying voice, coaching and conducting. Winsor’s training started when she was 10 in orchestral, symphonic, opera, chamber and solo work began in the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth program where she served as Concertmaster of YOGFW and the TCU Symphony for several years. She spent summers performing violin and viola in chamber music festivals in Michigan, Virginia and Arkansas by invitation. Her teachers include Betty-Jean Hagen (student of Ivan Galamian), Sin-Tung Chiu (founder of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra), Dr. James Lerch, Ron Neal, and Eric Halen.
While working a “civilian” job, she regularly free-lanced in the Wichita Falls, Lake Lewisville, Garland, Arlington, Las Colinas and Richardson Symphonies. Winsor’s teaching approach is about using music to inspire a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life as well as to develop life skills of discipline, achieving goals and problem solving.
