Lisa is a classically trained Mezzo-soprano who hails from the Chicago,IL. area. She holds an undergraduate degree in vocal performance as well as a graduate certification in voice from Northern Illinois University. She has taught voice and piano for over twenty five years. Although classically trained , Lisa prides herself in embracing many musical genres, including pop music and music theatre. During her ten year contract with the Chicago symphony chorus, she had the pleasure of participating in two cds, one of which received two Grammy awards. She also performed with a small group on a Mannheim steamroller cd entitled “American spirit”.
She was an adjunct faculty member at Waubonsee community college and taught at the N.I.U. Community school of the arts.
Her music theatre journey started early with roles such as Eliza Doolittle in “My fair Lady” and Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls” just to name a few. She toured with the Illinois stage company playing Mary in “Little Mary Sunshine”.
Before moving to Texas, Lisa was music director at Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL. where she directed an adult and children’s choir in addition to playing keyboards and singing in the praise band.
She is a member of SIGMA ALPHA IOTA music fraternity as well as AGMA.
Lisa truly loves teaching, and has taught all age groups. The training she received along with the vast performance experience makes her a well rounded teacher and coach.
