About Me...

Tyler Aguillard is a passionate cellist with 12 years of dedicated study and a deep love for the instrument. Currently a senior at the University of North Texas, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Cello Performance and Education, Tyler is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the cello with students at Texas Amps & Axes. While new to teaching, Tyler believes in the power of “small steps, consistent progress,” and he strives to create an honest environment where students build good habits, learn to self-reflect, and feel empowered to comfortably grow at their own pace, whether slow or fast.

A talented performer, Tyler has played with notable ensembles such as the UNT Symphony Orchestra and UNT Baroque Orchestra, and has been a finalist in the UNT Papich Chamber Music Competition.

His diverse experience also includes TMEA State participation as well as performing with the Texas Cellos Nordic Christmas Project and the Turtle Creek Chorale Orchestra. These opportunities have shaped his approach to teaching, where he emphasizes not just technical skill, but also the emotional depth that music can bring.

Tyler’s teaching philosophy centers around authenticity, vulnerability, and joy. He believes that music is a powerful tool for expressing one’s true self and sharing those emotions with others. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, Tyler creates a supportive and joyful learning environment where students can explore and discover their own unique musical voice. With his patient approach and commitment to consistent progress, Tyler is thrilled to help his students connect with the cello and their own love for music.
